Our Wing Chun Kungfu is a transformative practice, which increases the capacity for sustained concentration and deep insight.Common benefits include:
- Improved coordination, balance, and flexibility
- Self-discipline and focus
- Mindfulness and self-confidence
- Joining an authentic lineage transmission of Chinese culture
- Be part of a respected community of lifelong learners
As a martial art, Wing Chun is designed to use simple and direct movements to overcome larger, stronger opponents. Rather than relying on pure speed and brute strength, we utilize a good understanding of physical mechanics to develop our position, sensitivity, and timing. We believe in building a strong foundation in practice and precision in execution. Proper training develops calm confidence and a healthy mind and body.葉問 - 梁相 - 鐘萬年The Wing Chun style was popularized by Yip Man upon fleeing mainland China for Hong Kong, following the Communist Revolution in 1949, where he began teaching after a lifetime of study. Our approach is passed down from Yip Man's premier student Leung Sheung, and his student Kenneth Chung.
